Leigh Pemberton House
The Visitor Information Centre is located in the iconic Leigh-Pemberton House, inbetween the Castle and the Cathedral.
Dating back to 1543, this half-timbered building was originally a wealthy merchant's house, before later becoming an inn.
From 1899-1979 it served as a bank, undergoing extensive restoration during that time frame. The building was eventually given to the city of Lincoln by the Chairman of the National Westminster Bank, Sir Robin Leigh-Pemberton.
Today, Leigh Pemberton House is one of the oldest buildings in Lincoln to still be in regular use. As the building is Grade-II listed, it still boasts many of its original features, including a stunning beamed ceiling.
